The Altar

In today's sermon, we delved into the rich symbolism and evolving role of the altar throughout the Bible. From the early patriarchs like Noah, Abraham, and Moses, who established altars as sacred spaces for sacrifice and worship, to the transformative message in the New Testament where Jesus' ultimate sacrifice redefined the concept of the altar. We explored how altars serve not only as places of offering but also as symbols of worship, memory, spiritual warfare, and prayerful requests. Drawing inspiration from Hebrews 13:10-16, we were reminded that our modern approach to the altar is a journey of humility, spiritual engagement, and a heartfelt response to God's calling. This sermon invited us to reflect on the altar's significance in our lives, encouraging us to respond in worship, repentance, and a commitment to spiritual growth.
